My Favorite Products
I want to share with you some of my favorite baby products. The list is actually quite short because I'm only sharing the few things that I actually LOVE. And in my less than 2 years of being a parent, I haven't come across much that falls into that category.
The truth is I'm really not a products person. I'm a firm believer that you really don't need too much, but when something happens to be really good, even if it's just a teensy bit extra, I go for it! And you should too! You could also easily add all of these items onto your baby registry, or request them as gifts for your little ones birthday.
So without further ado, I present my shortlist...
Slumberpod. The perfect solution for keeping your baby's sleep environment pitch dark no matter where you are. Whether you're on vacation, visiting friends/family, having baby sleep in the living room because of construction in their room, or whatever else the circumstance - the slumberpod works like magic. It's super easy and quick to set up, portable, comes with its own carry pouch, has been safety tested, fits over most standard pack n plays, and more. I've used it in my parents house when my son would sleep over in the pack n play, and in my own home when it was too cold in our room for him to sleep there. I really can't recommend it enough! Blackout EZ blinds. This is another blackout solution that I'm often recommending to families. Blackout blinds may be a thing already, but they often don't work very effectively - light is still able to come through on the sides or top, or even worse, through the blinds itself. With the EZ blinds, however, you get total darkness. And it's an inexpensive way to blackout a space without doing any damage to the windows or walls. The great part is that you can always put it away when you're not using it. That's what we do in my in-laws house - put it up when Asher is sleeping over, and then remove it when we leave. Definitely a great option for your own home or if baby always sleeps over at someone else's place.
Love to Dream Swaddle. Okay, so this one may not be needed for everyone. But for newborns who are always fighting the swaddle or trying to break free, then this may be for you! With Asher, we used to swaddle him with a blanket and after a few weeks, he started to almost always break is arms free, but then continue sleeping anyway. I saw this swaddle and thought it'd be perfect for him since it just left his arms up from the beginning. And as a plus, it way easier to put him into this swaddle then to stand there trying to perfect the blanket wrap!
Activity Table. I’m not sure what people typically pay for little kids tables, so this may seem a bit pricey, but I actually think it’s worth it. This set is sturdy, good material, easy to clean, and with adjustable legs on the table and chairs, so I think it’s a great investment. Being an OT and having worked on tabletop activities with other children, I was looking for a surface that would be easy to do different tasks on - play dough, pencil writing, coloring, eating, etc. And this set seems to be that, and more!
That’s it for me. Like I said, super short!
Perhaps over the next few years, I’ll find more things and slowly add on, but for now I’ll KISS - like my 6th grade science teacher used to say, keep it simple silly :)
